Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology is both an art and a science. Amy Andrews applies a multi-disciplinary approach relying on accurate assessment and a custom program designed for your individualized goals, and needs.

Is your workout working? Are you still in pain from an old injury, limited in what you can do? A Corrective Exercise Program is your roadmap to becoming your best. Invest in yourself.

C.H.E.K Practitioners look at the entire human being as an holistic entity. Through an understanding of how the body's control systems integrate, producing our moment-to-moment and long-term physical, emotional, mental and spiritual reality, the C.H.E.K Practitioner can more efficiently and effectively isolate the area(s) where each client needs coaching. After a comprehensive assessment of structure, movement skills, nutrition and lifestyle factors, a customized program is developed. The C.H.E.K system is multidisciplinary, therefore, we seek to prioritize your efforts according to your financial and time commitments; we seek to address the areas most likely to reap the greatest long-term reward, even if they don't include a C.H.E.K Practitioner initially! The C.H.E.K system is educationally-based, yet each C.H.E.K Practitioner applies his/her specific skills to best suit your needs as an individual; for example, if you need soft tissue work as part of your program, I can assist you because I am a Certified Massage Therapist with specialized training in Neuromuscular Therapy; if you need a medical specialist or another specialist outside my scope of practice, I will do my best to locate the best one for you.

Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology is:

  • Movement training to eliminate pain and improve flexibility, balance, stability, strength and power
  • Exercise training to correct the “software” that directs your body’s movement habits
  • A wellness coaching method
  • Functional exercise training to enhance overall health and restore or achieve optimal function

Many of Andrews' clients pursued traditional rehab methods or personal training and found they were not achieving full function or pain-free movement. In some cases, they had degraded their condition and did not know where to turn for improvement. Unlike the reactive medical intervention models, Andrews uses proactive strategies to uncover the underlying cause.

Whether your goal is to recover from injury, maintain pain-free movement, boost sports performance, or improve your appearance, Amy Andrews will work with you and meet you where you need to be met.

Get Results. Take Your First Step:

A detailed, accurate, orthopedic assessment will be the foundation of your exercise program. Amy Andrews will assess flexibility, posture, joint function, movement patterns, nutrition & lifestyle factors, and your goals. Her integrated approach combines different modalities of health and healing to achieve a positive result for you. Development of your Corrective Exercise Program includes review of your current status, health history, movement patterns and personal goals.

Get results with your Personalized Program:
Specifically selected stretches, mobilizations and functional strength exercises (movements that enhance your daily functions) that will comprise your program. It is based on the quantitative and qualitative data revealed in the assessment. Be sure to expect recommendations for improving your quality of life and together we work to support your long-term health and wellness. Programs can be designed for exercise off-site, or at the corrective exercise studio. You will gain awareness of your spine, movements and posture.

Stay on Track: After 4-8 weeks, a re-evaluation is highly recommended. Since we are training the human nervous system and its capacity to adapt, exercises will be advanced so that you progress to your ultimate goal. Everyone’s different--some clients need just a few cycles of 4-8 week exercise programs, others may need a longer-term relationship depending on their condition or history.

Program Instruction: Most exercise programs are taught at our studio. We can videotape as we teach for your future reference.

Results: Feedback and communication are the foundation of a program that gets results. You’ll start to feel better right away! We work together to empower you to be in charge of your body’s health.
