About Amy Andrews

Born and raised in a Chicago suburb, Amy had an active childhood in Wilmette's community life. She learned at a young age to set high standards. She stepped out of the traditional schooling process and attended New Trier High School's Center for Self-Directed Learning. As a child she loved to ride American Saddlebred horses. Not having a horse, she always worked at a local barn, teaching horseback riding, mucking stalls, caring for lame horses, and working for horse trainers.

After graduating with a BA in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Amy eventually came to manage her family's commercial printing facility in Chicago's loop. Acute neck pain from chronic stress and poor ergonomics led Amy to a Certified Massage Therapist whose work provided tremendous relief. By then Amy was a competitive cyclist and raced her mountain bike every weekend. The improvement she achieved was so life-changing that Amy decided to go to the Chicago School of Massage Therapy, seeking a fulfilling career change.

Graduating in 1997, Amy already had a strong practice in Evanston, providing relief with therapeutic massage. She realized, however, that massage could only provide limited relief if the client did not correct their movement patterns. Investigating how to teach people to improve their posture and movement "software", Amy decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer. Deeply disappointed and concerned by the lack of depth in education for Personal Training certifying organizations, Amy realized the great responsibility she had to help people move better, not hurt them! There's no fast and easy way to master a profession so complex.

Amy ran across an author in massage journals who spoke volumes of truth, whose exercises were very effective, they really helped her clients! In pursuing the finest training in the world for movement and exercise, she discovered that same author, Paul Chek, and the C.H.E.K Institute. Four years later and more than a graduate degree in investment, Amy is sure she knows how not to hurt her clients!

Meeting you where you need to be met is the way to be sure each client has success. While doing her own healing, Amy is constantly improving, growing and expanding her tools in holistic care. Having achieved C.H.E.K Level III status, Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach II status, and awaiting a C.H.E.K Level IV certification to be offered, she pursued a three-year training in Craniosacral Biodynamics. "This work is so important and humbling, I hope that we can all do some sessions, and let ourselves regain our intrinsic health. Developing the relationship skills to allow a client to heal their own nervous system, their own traumas, is an honor to me."

"Each day my work is exciting, fun, happy, intense, fulfilling, humbling. I study constantly, just to keep up with what my clients present. My work is designed to help you invest in yourself, so it's no longer necessary to see me. It's always good to have optional resources to help you grow and restore wellness and my goal is to create independently healthy clients."

"I am blessed to be in service to those who are ready to do their work with me. I am happy to help my clients meet their goals, reduce their pain, feel better, perform better, and be happier. They are healing themselves, I'm just a facilitator, a witness, a catalyst. I am grateful for each and every opportunity." --Amy Andrews
